Getting back on track…

*Drools*

*Drools*

It’s been forever since I last made jewelry and I’m really trying to get back on track and make pretty things while ruining my nails xD So I was going around some online stores to stare at pretty pretty beads and daydream about them.

Beads are one of my guilty pleasures, along with yarn and books and netbooks… and ebook readers and Robbie Williams… Ok! I have many guilty pleasures! But only the bead related one actully pays off :-p Though George wasn’t doing so bad last time I checked.

But going back to the beads and the jewelry making thing… I don’t really NEED new beads, but staring at them is so good! And even daydreaming about buying them…

Because, to be honest I do all the math about stuff like this… How much do they cost, how much would it cost me to get them sent and then fantasize of being sitting in my bed, with a gazillion of beads to choose from, just working and working endlessly in pretty pretty really pretty jewelry…

*Sigh* I know it’s too much but it’s hard not to do it when you find a good store with almost endless kinds of beads like it happened today at Beads Of Cambay I  got lost there and just spent hours staring, calculating, planning, and even analizing what I would have to sell in order to get a new stash of beads…

I got sent here from a Social Spark opp (How’s this for full disclosure? xD) but I got caught up by it! So this review is completely honest… I did spent hours staring, wanting… No wait… Needing new beads!

The site was new to me, and I can’t believe it, it’s so amazing! I guess I should start expanding my supplies horizons, because I’m totally missing out! They sell Wholesale Beads & Gemstones and it’s wholesale pricing that makes it even more exciting to me.  I mean, the cheaper the better huh? ;)

And shipping seems great! That’s hard to find since I’m buying from Honduras, but they do offer international shipping and free shipping in the States, I think i should start looking for someone who’s coming to Honduras anytime soon! :D

Etsy… so cool!

Ok, yes, I love Etsy! With a love that is more than love! :-p

I’ve made 4 sales since October(ok, not that good… but could be worse) and I’ve done lots of window shopping… Too much to be good for me… My favorites list is just too big!

But lately I’ve been using other features and I love it even more… I’ve made a couple of treasuries, they are great!!! :D And I would love to make a million more if it wasn’t so damn hard to get one in the first place…

But one of the things I really love, is the Virtual Labs! Chats, workshops, Shop critiques and even concerts and in such amazing places! :D

I attended the critiques today, didn’t get one but I stayed afterwards chatting with a guy that sells buttons and magnets (RyanPlz)…. God, I think we played with every thing you can use in the rooms! We jumped from seat to seat, spinned like crazy, spanked forgotten avatars and were attacked by the gigantic drooling smiley… so much fun!

Etsy, for me, is not only great because of the posibility of selling handmade thingies online but also because of their great interest in the sellers…
The Storque is a huge Etsy Database and you find so many interesting things there to help you be a better seller and the labs are just amazing! Etsy is, by far, the best handmade marketplace there is…

So, you knitters, crocheters, beaders, jewelerers, artists, even Sharpie doodlers(*) give you craft a chance!

(*)Yes, sharpie doodlers! If you don’t believe me check out Rosie O’Donnell’s Etsy Shop (Yes, THE Rosie O’Donnell). She sells doodled Munnys and the proceeds go to “Rosie’s Broadway Kids

Now live…Thingies, my Etsy Shop!

Yes!!! :D I finally accepted the challenge and opened my Etsy Store. ( http://sphinxy.etsy.com) It took a very pushy (yet adorable) girl at Ravelry asking if I sold my jewelry somewhere… It’s on very early stages and only has a few things up (because fixing photos is sooooooo stressful!) but I made a huge batch last week.

They are not up yet, I kept waiting for a nice day to take the photos outdoors but that never happened! So I took them indoors with very very bad lighting and getting them ready is taking forever! That’s why I haven’t made this post. But since the widget is already on my sidebar I figured it was the right thing to do…

Go take a look and let me know what you think… there’s a lot of work to be done and I’ll love to hear what you have to say…

And to make it more interesting… what about a tiny giveaway? Check out the store and leave a comment on this post before October 12th and I’ll randomly pick one of you and send something that will be describe on a later post… something nice… I don’t say what exactly here because I came up with the idea while writting this… probably a set of earrings, bracelet and pendant… come on, you know you wanna! ;-)

Bracelets and rings and thingies….

Before writing my posts invasion I spend a very long time doing my daily share of window shopping at Etsy… I have to accept the fact that I am madly in love with Etsy, it’s like craftster’s heaven! So many pretty things!!! Today I spend all afternoon watching rings! All sizes and colors and materials, there’s a tiny teacup that’s calling out for me to get it… It’s so adorable…
And also the sweetest swarovski crystals’ ring that the seller calls a
Finger Necklace!!!!
And I was planning on going to bed, but I was giving a last check on my Google Reader and saw this really easy bracelet on FutureGirl’s Blog:D I am sooo tempted of buying some pretty lace tomorrow and a pretty button… and make one, or a bunch… :D
Damn, I can’t! I need to go to get my tests done, and my wounds cleaned and need to see how the documentary is going… but I will make it! Maybe add some tiny beads here and there to make it look more pretty…

Now I’m off to bed… I just saw the bracelet and wanted to post the tutorials link… it looks sooo feminine… It’s such a nice touch, spending almost nothing and barely doing anything!
